SEO Illumination
A little while ago at the London Bloggers Meetup, we had the pleasure of Improbulous from A Consuming Experience talk to us about search engine optimisation and getting traffic to your blog. At the time some of the ideas seemed straight forward and well known, but others quite interesting. I certainly picked up a few ideas. Improbulus went on to post at length at her fantastic blog and even developed the following “6 illuminating sayings”:
1. Content is king, originality the crown, and text the crown jewels.
2. Relatedness raises relevance.
3. The early words get the spider, and headings help make things tastier.
4. Links in to your blog’s web address (URL) are good, good links in are better, good link text is best.
5. Link out liberally - cite sites for authority and authenticity.
6. A blog post a day keeps bots from going away; a regular diet is just how they like it.
Great work Improbulus.
To read a full explanation of Imp’s saying, you need to check out her blog right now. Of course, don’t forget to post a comment if you find the content useful or interesting!

Good text, congratulations
Ah yes, the topic of SEO–something we never get tired of discussing! Improblulus has some great sayings. A little wordy, but then again, I have a short memory span.
Still, she makes some great points and presents them in a catchy way so that they are more likely to stick.
Hi
Great blog; comprehensive, well written and to the point. I 100% agree with the statement that “content is king”. You ROCK!!
I agree with that qoute. it’s hard to find originality lately. but great achievement.
Content is live of any site because through this you can boost your web very easily and fast.
Regarding point #3 - if you’re using wordpress be sure to ALWAYS write up a short summary of the article for the ‘Excerpt’ section. Spiders index this.
I get a kick out of some seo blogs. Especially the ones with a 0/10 or 1 or 2 google rank, that proclaim to be seo guru’s. At least the owner of this blog does not pretend to be an expert and has a half decent rating of 3 out of 10. Some good info by the way on this site I was just scouring the archives. thanks
I often visit your site for interesting topics and info. and here i am finding this wonderful post. Thanks.
Great article on SEO. I agree that Content is King.
I love the spider analogy! It was too funny and not one that I’ll forget for a while. The only one I’ve ever heard is Content is King.
Original content I guess is one of the most important to be consider in your website. And sad to say (in my opinion) that we usually find articles that were copied.
Keeping fresh content on your website it great for everybody!
Nice Post
Good article. Links are definitely one of the most important aspects of SEO. I do agree with outbound linking to relevant resources.
You always hear that content is king, but adding a crown and jewels to that king makes him that more important.
These really are great, thanks for sharing them with us.
haha nice metaphors.. they sure do make sense and serve as good check points for creating a succesful blog.

Regular updated content is now probably king. That’s why a blog has become so important.

Right on. The best way to make the knowledge stick is to include it with a smile - which you did fantastically.
And you gave us all a great new blog to follow … two for the price of none!
Thanks - keep it up
Yes content is king and father of SEO, search engine optimization. If you have fresh and unique content, you will definitely win.
