Is This a Viral?
I came across the fantastic Viral Video Chart today and spotted an ad for the Wii that seems to be pretty popular right now. See for yourself below, can anyone explain why this might have viral marketing qualities..?
Or do you think Nintendo has nothing to do with this..?
PS I hope I haven’t alienated any female readers!!
26/6 UPDATE
Fantastic comment from Pressure Washer reviews. Thanks for introducing me to the remake, which just goes to show how viral this is - even if it wasn’t seeded by Nintendo…

At least it was as stomach upseting commercials on T.V.right talk about dizzy. You sometimes have to wonder whats going on in that ad guys head.So it’s hard to say spoof or approved by big name client.
I don’t think so that is viral. That is fully mental. I am quite sure.
I did not understand a thing about the video and on top of that how can it ever be a t.v. commercial video. By the way what was that lady trying to do in the video without the ring or what ever you call it.
I thought it was kind of funny in the beginning, but then I just sped through the video cuz it got boring towards the end. If this is a viral video, it’s not a very good one.
Of course nintendo don’t have anything to do with *THAT*
Well, I don’t consider it funny, but thank you for the link anyway!
I don’t think this is viral.I think this is totally physiological.
I thought it was hilarious. At least it wasn’t some hefer :/
This is mental I think. But I have watched the video and got some pleasure.
Some type of psychological disorder can make such thing. This is not Viral.
Same here, I was expecting that it’s a fun one, but it’s quite boring in the end.. I don’t think that it is a viral video.
Guys, are you missing your brains? Your “other” brains? There is a girl there. With only panties on, that don’t cover much. And she’s moving her behind in a good way. And you watch what’s on TV. Well, I guess this is why it won’t go viral.
I also think so.But whatever you say the video is cool.
Hi, Really you people are frying your mind..it’s nothing like that…take it as a fun…
ohhh man, thats just low if nintendo is behind that. at least it wasnt a guy ina speedo -_-

For the first time I really understand the use of their new Wii. I think Nintendo should change their marketing strategy. They should offer a package solution: Hot girl Wii.
I don’t think that this is viral. It’s funny in the beginning.
muchas gracias por la informacion un saludo cordial desde españa
thank you very much for the information a cordial greeting from spain
This is not practical to use a visual material for this activity because there is available medium for this, called hula-hoop.
This is nothing but madness if they really wanted to publish the video. If that girl don’t know she is getting taped then the guy is mad. I am sure about this.
I don’t think it was a commercial or marketing at all. I believe the story was a guy filmed his girlfriend working out on the Wii Fit and put it on the internet where it went ‘viral’. It was watched by tons of people all over the internet and that is where the viral comes from, not marketing.
Quite a few opinions in there. One thing for sure, is that it is, or at least has been viral.
Now to the point as to whether or not it was seeded by Nintendo, well, hard to tell. Would anyone from Nintendo like to step in, is this really some guy taping his girlfriend, or is there some ad agency creative in NYC or London still chuckling away about this one..?
That is fully mental but the video is really cool.
Haha, this is funny, but i think the funniest one is the followup at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwEw6f2wtwc!
not sure i’m getting this
Totally mental videos!!! Funny Funny! LOL
Like the wise William Wordsworth saying: “Wisdom is ofttimes nearer when we stoop than when we soar.” - thank u for the share.
I don’t know if I I get it!!
I would consider it a viral video — not complicated but it works. It’s funny and it doesn’t take a lot to appreciate. One of the top sellers in viral video is humor - and this one definitely has it.
I agree with the general opinion - Not very viral, boring, and definitely not backed by Wii. It just looks like they were bored and had a video camera.
It has enough humor to get you to start watching it, but not enough to keep you glued on the screen.
I think the fact that we are talking and commenting about it makes it a good viral piece.
The striped underwear says it all. This is hilarious.
If it was nintendo’s I wouldn’t be surprised. The precision of advertising targeting and suggestion today is amazing and it will probably continue to get better as behavioural science and neurology goes further and further into unraveling the simple influenced beings we are.
That is wrong on so many levels!
