Text and Video Will Enrich Your Blog
I’ve been thinking recently about adding video to my blog to mix up the content and to make the blog more engaging. Check out a great example from Darren Rowse over at Problogger. I’m not quite there yet, but doing some early research into how I would go about adding video to this blog.
For some ideas, inspiration, check out this short video from Anil Dash at SixApart (the company behind TypePad, Vox etc). Anil talks about a mixed format of text with video and how this has been used effectivly by Google among others. He has some other great YouTube posts on the same subject, so have a look around after watching this one.
If anyone has any ideas, suggestions, recommendations or tips on getting started in video blogging, please get in touch.

I like video blogging but if it with funny or knowledgeable video.
That is true and only for that reason Youtube is getting more and more strong. It is nothing but a business policy. Think about if youtube demand some charge then what will happen.
I would have to agree with you a 100 percent. Everyone likes youtube. The only problem I run into is editing the video and making it look professional to the viewers.
oh yea, videos are what people wanna see, especially funny/entertaining ones. also, its good to keep them fairly short, sicne most people dont have 5 minutes to spend on watching them.

I agree as well, youtube is a great place, have you guys ever seen break.com?
Right, adding videos to your blog, really increases your blog’s traffic. Especially adding funny and amazing videos.
Perhaps, it’s time to add video’s. Hmmm…
I’ve been using videos in my blogs for a long time and I always notice a large increase in traffic when I do so. Nice post!
YouTube has added a demographics tab to its Insight analytics platform for video uploaders. The feature makes it easy for creators to break down viewer patterns by age, gender or a combination of the two. The data come from birthday and gender data people are asked to share when they set up YouTube accounts.
Darren Rowse is the best example that use video blogging. In fact ,it might improves reader as well.
I just began adding video for this very reason. I think people just like a changeup in interaction. It’s like sitting down to dinner. Eat a little chicked, take a bite of broccoli and finish off with dessert!
Maybe I should venture into video blogging soon. Seems to be very popular now..
Hmm.. Adding Video and pictures would definitely spice up the blog rather than mundane text based. But videos for those professional blogs who posts more serious stuffs? Will videos work for them as well?
Its always fun of the blog has some interactive feature like video. For me , I’m only interested if the video is funny. If its not funny I’ll pass.
Vblog is suitable for those who likes to present in front of video, you can’t be shy and must outgoing person.
video blog such as youtube is a nice site to visit,.a combination of video and pictures makes the site interesting …it makes things easier
start the video if u have talent on it
not really all ppl suit to start a video blog
Yup..
Video will surely enrich one’s blog..:-)
Video blog really do need much much techniques. If no talent better don’t on it.
Guess people should start vlogging instead of blogging now. Food for thought don’t you think ?
I added video to my blogs not too long ago and I must admit I have seen a descent increase in traffic. There is a bit more maintenance though and you need to have a server with a good bandwidth.
The idea of using videos in the blog is great. I tried it last week and I found it was working.
Using video blogs is a great tool to keep a low bounce rate. It keeps people on your site and wanting more instead of just scanning over a post thats only filled with text. Something else you should consider is maybe trying out a podcast first and see how it goes just to get you feet wet and prep you for the jump to videos. Good luck with the whole project.
Text and videos helps one to easily communicate with others. If one uses to make his or her video and upload it on net he can easily communicate to surfer who visits his or her blog.
You r very right and the youtubue is giving us some great opportunity to do that sort of thing.
This is true but sometimes it makes the post heavier.
I try to space my videos out on my blogs as much as possible to prevent the site from getting too “heavy”. But I would definitely say that I would not have the readership nor the quality of content without Video content!
Embedding videos is definitely a good idea. I think it can only enhance a website.
Great idea. Its much easier to communicate and understand. Thanks for sharing!
