Affiliate Marketing - What and How
Anyone who’s been working on internet marketing projects will almost certainly be looking at affiliate marketing as a means of making money. Perhaps the most common affiliate scheme is with Amazon. I’m sure you’ve seen this dozens of times, where people review a book on their blog and post it up with a link to Amazon.com. Amazon will then pay a commission should someone click on the link and buy the book.
If you haven’t seen this before, here’s an example:
A great book I’ve recently read is David Ogilvy’s ‘Confessions of an Advertising Man‘ You can buy it here.
Of course, if you now click on that link and buy the book, which by the way I strongly recommend for anyone who has to write advertising or sales copy, then I’ll get a kick back. It’s not rocket science.
But it seems to make any money from affiliate marketing you need to be fairly sharp about it and there are lots of pitfalls. I can’t find a better article than this one posted on e-zone’s Clickbank, Affiliate Marketing and more blog called ‘20 Reasons Why You Will Never Live Off Your Affiliate Income!’
If you want to find out what you might be doing wrong, or get some ideas for squeezing more out of your affiliate programmes, check it out. There are some great points for newbies and established marketers also.

Ok, as many people have pointed out, the link to the ‘20 Reasons Why..’ post isn’t there. Well, there’s something wrong with my Wordpress and I can no longer add links, so here’s the whole nasty URL for anyone interested:

Just copy and paste that into your browser after http://
I hope to get this fixed soon. Sorry folks!
